How it all works!

Our charity partners set up unique individual Uni-Profiles for a homeless person and give them a green Unify Giving RFID wristband and a restricted use Unify Giving bank card, which allows the beneficiary only to pay for essential goods and services. They can’t withdraw cash.

To Donate

First, download the Unify Giving app to your smartphone and add your payment details.

Then you can donate to a homeless person

in two ways:

Direct on the Street

When you see a green Unify Giving RFID wristband of someone experiencing homelessness on the streets, open the app, choose your donation amount and simply tap on the wristband. Our tech knows if it’s an actual Unify Giving wristband, so rest assured that your donation is safe. You can save the recipient profile in the Unify Giving app for future in-app donations.

Donate Anywhere

Simply open the Unify Giving app, choose your donation amount and your desired location and hit send. Our clever algorithm ensures that all donations are shared equally over the Uni-Profiles that our charity partners have already set up with homeless people in that area.

Transparent Giving

We ensure that for every £1 donated more than 92.6p will reach the individual's profile. 5p is spent on essential operational costs and 2.4p is spent on direct banking costs.

Contactless Donations

Working with leading charities, we will distribute green RFID wristbands and set up user Uni-Profiles, so those who need your support will receive your donations directly.

Restricted Purchasing

Have peace of mind knowing that donations are used responsibly and safely. Recipient cards come restricted from cash withdrawals, gambling and the purchase of alcohol.

Donate from Anywhere

You can donate through the Unify Giving app at any time, from anywhere, allowing you complete control.

Donor Rewards

Donors can benefit from a 'give-and-receive' reward scheme, allowing the recipient to thank the donor for kindness.

We ensure those that need the money get it. 92.6%

Unify ensure that whatever you give that 92.6% reaches the individual your giving the money to. For example, out of a £3 donation, £2.78 goes to the recipient, 7p to the bank and 15p to administration and operational expenses.

Shelter

21% is used for fund raising 79%

Shelter spend 79% on advice, support and campaigning and 21% on fundraising. Out of £3, £2.37 goes to helping people through advice, support and campaigning and 63p on fundraising.

Toucan

100% given but you need to give 50p and 8% Charge 74%

Toucan do give 100% but ask you to pay 50p to cover their costs, plus 4%, 6% or 8% on top. Toucans minimum donation is £3 (which costs you an additional 78p) and then you have the charity’s own costs deducted, once they receive the funds. This varies depending on the charity: for Shelter it is 21%, for Crisis it’s 31%.
